Home remedies to treat vitiligo
Melanin is the pigment that provides color to the skin. In people who have vitiligo, the melanin gets destroyed due to the condition. The absence of melanin in the body leads to the development of white patches on various parts of your body. These patches are smaller in size at the initial stages and eventually might grow and cover the entire body.

Papaya
Papaya is good for your health for a lot of reasons. One of the major benefits of papaya is that it is known to be effective for treating vitiligo. Rub papaya on the patches of the skin which is affected by vitiligo. Then, wash the area well and dry it. In addition to external uses, papaya juice should also be consumed regularly to replenish melanin cells, the deficiency of which causes vitiligo.
Red clay
Red clay is a rich source of copper, and thus, it is effective for the treatment of vitiligo. One portion of ginger juice and two portions of red clay should be mixed together and applied to the area affected by vitiligo. Ginger juice enables the flow of blood in the patches.
Stress reduction
Too much stress is harmful to you in every way possible and vitiligo is just one reason you should try to avoid taking stress. Although stress does not start the condition, if you already have vitiligo, it certainly worsens the condition. Try drinking green tea or exercising as a stress-buster.
Sunscreen
Regular exposure of the skin to the sun increases chances of vitiligo and sunscreen helps a lot in keeping vitiligo at bay. Harmful UV rays of the sun affect the skin and cause vitiligo. Sunscreen should be applied every day as a preventive measure. Sunscreen should be applied to all body parts exposed to the sun such as the face, hands, feet, and lips.
Use a copper vessel for drinking water
Melanin in the body increases if we drink water from a copper vessel. There are already numerous reasons why you should consume a lot of water during the day. Using a copper vessel will only make water ever better for your health as it will decrease the chances of vitiligo.
Basil leaves
It is a known fact that basil leaves have anti-aging and anti-viral properties. The same properties of basil also help in avoiding vitiligo. Mix basil leaves with lime juice to trigger the production of melanin in the body. The mixture has to be applied to the skin every day to ensure better results against vitiligo.
Walnuts
Eating more than five walnuts every day helps deal with the condition of vitiligo. Furthermore, you can make a paste of crushed walnuts and water and apply it on the area of skin affected with vitiligo three to four times every day for at least 15 minutes. White patches caused by vitiligo will be reduced significantly.
