Effective home remedies to deal with warts
Warts are harmless skin growths that can occur on any part of the body. These warts are caused due to the human papillomavirus (HPV).
There are several natural treatment options that can help in treating warts. Some of the most effective ones are mentioned below.
Apple cider vinegar
This is a very popular natural remedy for treating warts at home. It involves soaking a small swab of cotton in apple cider vinegar and applying it onto the skin every night before going to bed. Additionally, you can place a bandage over the wart to seal in the vinegar and achieve the best results.
It is important to note that because apple cider vinegar is acidic in nature, it can cause slight discomfort when applied to the skin.
Pineapple
Apply cubes of fresh pineapple to the wart every day. The natural enzymes in pineapple will help in naturally treating warts.
Baking powder
A paste made from baking powder and castor oil is helpful in getting rid of warts. Apply the paste on the wart at night and seal it with a bandage. Repeat the process daily.
Vitamins
Crush a tablet of vitamin C and mix it with a little water to make a thick paste. Apply this paste on warts overnight and cover it with a bandage. Similarly, you can also use a vitamin E capsule and apply it over the wart before bedtime.
Aspirin
Just like vitamin tablets, you can also crush one tablet of aspirin and mix it with a small quantity of water. Apply the paste on the wart at night. Repeat the process everyday till the wart disappears.
Tea tree oil
Apply a small quantity of tea tree oil on the wart every day and seal it with a bandage. You can also add a little clove oil to make the remedy more effective.
Aloe vera
Aloe vera contains malic acid that helps in getting rid of warts. The best way to use aloe vera gel is to extract it directly from the plant. However, if that is not available, try to use the purest form of the gel you can find.
Orange peel
Orange peel helps in getting rid of the wart. Simply rub the wart with the peel. Soon, the wart will turn orange and eventually darken. In many cases, warts drop off within two weeks.
Potato
Take a potato and cut it in half. Rub the wart with the half potato, till the skin becomes totally saturated with fresh potato juice. Repeat the process twice every day for two weeks for best results.
Generally, warts fall off on their own. However, some simple home remedies can speed up this process and can help in treating these warts naturally. But it is important to note that these treatments do not destroy the virus that causes warts. Consequently, they can occur again.
